A special place to eat, meet & sleep

Spanhoe Lodge is set in peaceful countryside & offers 8 guest rooms. We are committed to ensure an appropriate accommodation service for all guests. All of our rooms are on the Ground level & one of these has been designed to cater for the needs of people with restricted mobility.

Pre-Arrival

We are located on a quiet, little used road which connects two small villages. Our location is peaceful, tranquil & “off the beaten track”.

It is not ideally suited to those travelling without a car, although transport can be arranged & we have various taxi companies who regularly transport our guests.

The nearest shops are approximately 5 miles away.

Spanhoe Lodge itself is not on a bus route.

The nearest bus station and railway station is 8 miles away in Corby or 10 miles in Stamford.

A railway station at Corby has links directly to London St Pancras (approximately 1hour 10 minutes travelling time)

There are several local taxi companies, with accessible taxis - we can make bookings for you in advance if required.

We do accommodate guest’s pets by prior arrangement.  (Additional charges & rules apply)

Brochures & menus can be provided in large print if required. We regret we do not have facilities to prepare documents in braille.

Our website http://www.spanhoelodge.co.uk provides pictures of our accommodation & further information about the services we provide.

You can contact us by telephone, text (SMS) or e-mail. Please see the “Contact Information” section of this document.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

To ensure we are available to meet & greet you, please advise us of your anticipated arrival time. This is very important as we do not have 24 hour reception so there may not always be someone on site.

Check-in is available from 16:00 however if you need an earlier check-in time please ask, and we will try to accommodate your request.

There is 1 designated parking space for guests with mobility problems – this is clearly marked. The majority of the parking area is on a gravelled surface but the 1 designated parking bay does have concrete strips either side. These concrete strips lead to all bedrooms & the main dining room entrance or Gallery Room entrance.

Other parking areas are not marked but there is parking for approximately 35 cars in total.

Parking is on level, gravelled ground, but there is a concrete footpath around the bedroom areas & leading to the main dining room and Gallery Room entrance.

We would advise you to leave your luggage in the car until after you have registered as we can then direct you to park closer to your room. We are more than happy to assist guests with luggage.

Main Entrance & Reception

The main entrance into reception has 6 deep steps, alongside which there is a ramp. We recommend you use the shallow ramp leading into leading into the main dining room. This door would be unlocked if we are aware of your requirements prior to your arrival.

During opening times the main entrance door will usually be unlocked if we are on site.  However if this door is locked there is a bell.

The main entrance door is a double door giving plenty of width for a wheelchair, pushchair or walker. The Dining room entrance also has a double door and flat threshold.

There is seating available in the reception area.

There are a mixture of hard floor, carpet and carpet tiles throughout the ground floor, with a gentle ramp leading to the fully accessible toilet.

Public Areas – Internal

All of the public areas are situated on the ground floor.

The floor covering is either hard floor, carpet or carpet tiles throughout with the exception of ceramic tiles in public toilet/restroom areas.

There is a gentle ramp leading from Reception towards the public toilet areas.

Reception & Dining Room

Breakfast is served in the main dining room known as the “Dakota Room” which is either accessed from reception, or there is a gentle ramp via the decking area leading directly into the Breakfast/Dining Room.

The floor covering is soft carpet.

The furniture is flexible & can be moved on request.

Tables have good underspace.  Table legs are a central pedestal. Chairs do not have arms and can be moved to accommodate.

Menus can be provided in large print.

We regret we are currently unable to supply laundry facilities.

The seating & tables are flexible in their arrangement & may be re-arranged to suit individual requirements.

We have two meeting rooms available, both of which are flexible in their layout and can be in a theatre, classroom or boardroom configuration.

Their capacity varies depending on the configuration required.

Please ask for further details.

There are 8 large bedrooms all of which are on the ground floor.

All rooms have doors suitable for access by wheelchairs & walking aids, and have double interconnecting fire doors.

All of the rooms are individually designed and are either King-size Doubles or Twin beds. The Twin beds have an option to be linked together to provide Super-king size beds.

The double rooms all have a leather settee & fridge. The bathrooms offer a bath with power shower over.

The Twin rooms have a walk-in wet room with 2 steps up. In a separate room there is a WC & washbasin.

These rooms are equipped with 2 leather Tub chairs & fridge.

One of the Double rooms (Room 4) has a wheel-in wet room with drop down shower seat & a raised toilet seat both with stainless steel side supports. This room also has a higher dining chair without arms for guests who find the leather settee too low.

All rooms have smoke detectors & alarm sounders which are connected to the main building.  The alarm sounder also has a strobe light for people with limited hearing ability.

One of the Double rooms has a sofa bed which when extended will offer sleeping spaces for 1 child or 1 adult.

One of the Double rooms has a micro kitchen, providing a self- catering option.

All of the bedrooms are carpeted & the bathrooms are covered with Karndean flooring.

The wet rooms have ceramic tiling on the floor.

All rooms have a telephone with which you can contact reception 24 hours a day.  It is also possible to receive and make calls using this telephone. (charges apply for calls made)

All rooms have Freeview TV’s with remote control.  We have a selection of DVD’s and a DVD player available for you to borrow in reception.  These are our personal collection, so we would be grateful if you would return them after use.
