The British social custom of taking Afternoon Tea was popularised in the 1840s by Duchess Anna Maria, wife of the 7th Duke of Bedford, it was said to be too long between lunch and dinner as dinner was served very late in that household.

This delightful experience is perfect for a leisurely afternoon spent with a friend. Catch up over your afternoon tea and simply enjoy the peace and quiet and tuck in!

Delicate sandwiches are accompanied by homemade scones served with clotted cream and fresh fruit preserves, complemented by a selection of tempting cakes and pastries.  

Afternoon Tea at Spanhoe Lodge is £17.50 per person (pre-booking is required).

Served Thursday to Saturday: 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
